International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) was established by pharmacists and pharmaceutical researchers worldwide in 1912. It is an organization which representing more than 3 million pharmacists and pharmacy‐related scientists around the world and has members of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Associations of each country including 132 organizations around the world. FIP has subcommittees for the pharmacy practitioners, pharmaceutical scientists, young pharmacists under 35 year‐old, new Grads of pharmacy school less than 5 years or younger. It also supports to establish the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and to hold academic activities. From 1948, as a non‐governmental organizations (NGO) which collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO), FIP cooperates with the world's pharmacists and pharmacy‐related organizations to meet the healthcare needs and expectations of the world's institutions and to develop innovative specialties for the pharmacists in present and years to come. To celebrate the 100th anniversary, in 2012, FIP held the 1^st World Conference of the Ministers of Health and announced to hold the conference every five years. So, the 2^nd Conference will be held in Seoul at the same period of the FIP World Congress in 2017. It will be held at COEX Convention Center in Seoul, from September 10 to September 14. In Asia, Japan and China already had held the FIP World Congress. In conclusion, the 2017 FIP Congress will an opportunity to promote and develop the pharmaceutical research and practice levels of Korea internationally.
