On 20 May, 2015 the first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) came out in Republic of Korea. After about 10days(1 June), one confirmed patient died and the possibility of third wave infections peaked. According to this, public risk perception increased day by day. Goods that were believed to be helpful in preventing MERS were sold out within hours. Groundless rumors about MERS were spread over rapidly via Internet. Despite high accessibility to public, there was no specific discussion on the roles of the community pharmacists. This study was based on published articles and web-sites about MERS and web-based references regarding the role of community pharmacists in crisis management when Emerging Infectious Diseases occurred in other countries. The purpose of this study intended to emphasis on necessity of pharmacy manual in terms of stable supply of goods for preventing infection, accurate information transmission, risk communication through MERS outbreaks.
